Our beautiful son, Edward Joseph Bailey, succumbed to Type C meningitis when he was 20 years old. This disease took his precious life in 16 hours. Eddy died on November 12, 2002. 

Eddy was the valedictorian for his class of 2000 at Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Wisconsin. He was awarded with a full ride tuition scholarship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. He was majoring in Finance & Economics and had junior standing at the University. 

My husband and I were both at our jobs when a police officer notified us of Eddy’s death. His older brother, Brett, was in Basic Training for the US Army at the time. 

Our lives are dedicated now to helping others learn about this disease and to protect themselves.
