I became involved with the American Society for Meningitis Prevention through my close connection to Saniah, the daughter of ASMP advocate Sharniece. I shared a deeply meaningful bond with Saniah, like that of a goddaughter, and losing her to meningitis has had a profound and lasting impact on my life. 

Motivated by both my grief and my love for Saniah, I am committed to helping prevent other families from experiencing a similar loss. With a professional background as an attorney, I have a strong interest in policy and legislative advocacy, particularly in engaging with lawmakers to promote awareness and access to meningitis prevention. 

Because Saniah was a college student at the time of her passing, I feel a deep connection to campus-based outreach and am eager to raise awareness among students about the importance of meningococcal vaccination and prevention. Living in the Fort Lauderdale area, I am well-positioned to engage with local colleges and universities and help expand ASMP’s impact in my community. 

Through my advocacy, I honor Saniah’s memory by turning loss into action—working to ensure more families are protected through education, awareness, and prevention.
