Annie-Jo Ashwell

Annie-Jo Ashwell brings over a decade of global event leadership and nonprofit strategy to the American Society for Meningitis Prevention. As a survivor of meningococcal meningitis (contracted at age 16), she has a deeply personal commitment to the mission of preventing meningitis and supporting affected communities.
In her professional career, Annie-Jo has led large-scale international conferences and programs, overseeing complex logistics, strategic partnerships, and cross-functional teams. Her operational expertise ensures that high-profile events run seamlessly, even across multiple time zones and stakeholders.
She currently serves as Associate Director of Global Event Operations at the Milken Institute, where she coordinates major conferences that convene policy leaders, philanthropists, and industry experts from around the world. Annie-Jo’s experience in event production, vendor management, and mission-driven convenings strongly aligns with ASMP’s goals of advocacy, education, and awareness.
On the ASMP board, she hopes to contribute her operational acumen, global perspective, and lived experience to amplify ASMP’s reach and impact.
