Dr. Mary Beth Koslap-Petraco
DNP, PPCNP-BC, CPNP, FAANP
Dr. Mary Koslap-Petraco is a clinical assistant professor at Stony Brook University School of Nursing in Stony Brook, NY, and a primary care provider in her own private practice after working for Suffolk County Department of Health Services for 30 years. Dr. Koslap-Petraco is also a Nurse Consultant on the staff of the Immunization Action Coalition.
She is a nationally known expert in immunization practice and has been an advisor for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and served on the National Vaccine Advisory Committee. During Dr. Koslap-Petraco’s long career working for SCDHS, she advised local and state health departments on immunization public policies using her expertise as a public health nurse to influence system-level changes. While working for SCDHS, Dr. Koslap-Petraco provided primary care for a large minority population. She assisted the families of her patients in making positive lifestyle changes to improve the health of their children and reduce obesity.
Dr. Koslap-Petraco is the PKIDS online Advice Nurse and a member of the executive board of Vaccinate Your Family-The Next Generation of Every Child By Two. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Koslap-Petraco has been an American Heart Association CPR instructor for over 30 years and has taught hundreds of classes in the community and trained both individuals and new CPR instructors how to save a life.
